At Lake Owego, you’ll always come home with something exciting to talk about! When you spend your summer here, we make sure you do the fun stuff you love AND get the chance to stretch your limits. Here is a pretty good taste of what you can do:

Sports: Action-packed – there’s no other word to describe our sports program! Basketball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, hockey, softball, touch football, track and field... you name it, we play it! Everyone plays on our intramural softball and basketball leagues, and our inter-camp teams compete against other camps in the area. We play hard to win, but what really counts is effort and sportsmanship.

Boating and Swimming: Beginners and advanced swimmers alike cool off in our sparkling pool and get top-notch instruction from our Red Cross-certified instructors, enjoying games, competitive swim meets and supervised free swim periods. You can canoe, kayak, sail, windsurf and fish here – or make your summer memorable with canoe and kayak river trips and advanced sailing and water-skiing adventures on nearby Lake Wallenpaupack.

Creative Arts: Artwork, craft making, model rocketry, photography, drama...let your creativity run wild! Be a DJ on WLOC, our own radio station, or develop special skills while working on individual projects with personal attention from our instructors. Our outdoor stage hosts workshops, major dramatic plays and musicals such as “Little Camp of Horrors,” “Phantom of Owego” and “Pirates of Pennsylvania.” Summer camp is the perfect place to invent something or re-invent yourself through the creative arts.

Outdoor Adventure: Climb a mountain. Canoe or kayak down a roaring white-water river. Hike along the world-famous Appalachian Trail. Go on a mountain biking trip or an overnight campout at one of our private campsites. Any way you look at it, it’s the adventure of a lifetime! Back at camp, you can learn the skills you’ll need to navigate our private lake, nature trails, over-water zip line, four-story high climbing wall and ropes challenge course – one of the largest in the East.

Specialty Activities: Tennis, golf, riflery, archery, horseback riding, self-defense, weightlifting and more – it’s all here! Enjoy small-group tennis instruction on all-weather courts from USPTA-certified pros and get the chance to play in our USTA-sanctioned Junior Invitational Tournament. Explore the lifetime sport of golf on our own driving net or at a nearby range and learn from a PGA golf pro at a local private country club. Our special events and evening activities pack the calendar with non-stop entertainment. And if you’re an older camper, you can travel to places like the Baseball Hall of Fame, Toronto and Boston.

Get-Togethers: Wondering where the girls are? Many of our campers have sisters, cousins and friends at Camp Timber Tops, located ½-mile away. We schedule organized activities with Timber Tops campers and give older campers the chance to have more frequent informal get-togethers.
